The federal government owns approximately 640 million acres of land. It has and continues to provide significant opportunities for renewables. This panel will discuss some of the most current and important initiatives impacting development of renewables on federal lands such as the proposed Renewable Energy Rule, the proposed Public Lands Rule, and the Western Solar Plan Update (otherwise known as the solar PEIS).
