Senior Director, Permitting & Environmental Policy
Triple Oak Power
Stu S. Webster is Senior Director of Permitting and Environmental Policy with Triple Oak Power since 2023, a wind energy focused renewable energy developer. Stu began his wind energy career upon realizing there was no conceivable way anything substantive was going to change for the better working to keep sources in compliance with their air permits, try as he might. Unsurprisingly, he realized this while in traffic on the 405. It was about this same time that Clipper Windpower Development was looking for a permit manager, a perfect fit for an air quality scientist. For three years Stu engaged in environmental and permitting issues that defy any precident. No better example of the unconventional nature of these issues than the creation of the American Wind Wildlife Institute (AWWI and now the Renewable Energy Wildlife Institute), which Stu joined in 2009 to raise funds during its inaugural year. Sadly, the industry lost a thought leader like none other with the passing of Andy Linehan, whose very large shoes Stu endeavored to fill from 2010 to 2015 at Iberdrola Renewables, relocating to Portland Oregon where he and his wife, Anne, still call home. Anne is important here because after Iberdrola Stu went to work for her, building her architectual designs and enjoying his time away from computers. From 2017 to 2020 Stu had the distinct honor to serve AWWI again, raising funds for and developing R&D testing of wildlife minimization technologies and techniques. In 2020 Stu joined Tom Vinson's team at American Clean Power and proudly served the industry in (hopefully) useful ways. Preferencing much of this, Stu attended University of California, Santa Barbara for undergraduate and graduate environmental degrees.
