At 17, a bizarre obsession struck me: Antarctica. Growing up in rural Virginia, this vast, icy wilderness both terrified and captivated me. A whole continent that few thought of and fewer had set foot on. It was a gateway drug — my obsession with Antarctica wound up igniting a relentless drive to solve climate change.
My path was spectacularly nonlinear. I majored in astronomy and physics at UVA, then naturally followed graduation with forming a band and touring North America and Europe for almost a decade. I became a professional writer and learned how to build, which culminated in my building a carbon-neutral homestead and music studio in northern Vermont.
In 2022, spurred by Terra.do's climate course, I dove headfirst into the climate fight. I co-founded Learnewable with Jeremy Solomon in 2023, and our AI-powered platform aims to revolutionize renewable energy development with a tech-meets-psychology approach to community engagement.
As for Antarctica, I will give everything I've got to make sure that world of ice doesn't become the stuff of history.
