Project Scientist
Olsson
Gunnar is a geospatial scientist with over 10 years of professional and academic experience as a remote sensing analyst. Gunnar is a published researcher in the field of remote sensing, having developed a model to estimate gross primary production in maize and soybean crop fields using satellite and gridded weather data. At Olsson, Gunnar uses remote sensing techniques to identify land cover constraints for renewable energy projects, monitor vegetation health at restoration and revegetation sites for transportation and renewable clients, detect change and invasive species encroachment for government clients, and perform wetland mitigation bank monitoring for clients of multiple disciplines. Gunnar is also a commercial UAV pilot who uses Olsson's fleet of UAVs to collect and analyze project specific data, from high resolution aerial imagery to six-band multispectral imagery and LiDAR point cloud data.
