I have been involved in the wildlife/energy sector since 2005. My Master's thesis work involved avian collisions with power lines. I have worked for the Forest Service as a staff biologist, then as the ESA Section 7 biologist and primary agency biologist for Western Area Power Administration for nine years. I was the Duke Energy Avian Protection Program Manager for seven years and now am the Director of Environmental Development for Deriva Energy (formerly Duke Energy Renewables) where my team leads the environmental due diligence, permitting, and compliance for wind, solar, and battery storage projects throughout the entire United States.
