Matthew J. Wagner is Manager of Renewable Energy Development for DTE Energy, a Detroit-based diversified energy company involved in the development and management of energy-related businesses and services nationwide. In his current role, Wagner leads a team responsible for overall community engagement, wildlife, and landowner care. Previously Wagner and his team managed all aspects of wind and solar development, including project site selection, design, land acquisition, wind resource monitoring, environmental and wildlife studies and various aspects of communications and community relations. Wagner was previously part of DTE’s environmental management team, and lead a team supporting environmental compliance across DTE's electric generation fleet. Prior to joining DTE Energy, Wagner worked as an environmental consultant, and began his career at the USEPA. In total, Wagner has worked in the environment/sustainability space for nearly 40 years. Wagner has a BS degree in environmental engineering from the Pennsylvania State University (1984), and a MS degree in environmental engineering from the University of Michigan (1991). Wagner is a licensed Professional Engineer in Michigan.
