Regional Energy Coordinator
U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Mountain-Prairie Region, Colorado
Laurel is the Regional Energy Coordinator for the Mountain-Prairie Region of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. In this capacity, she collaborates closely with Ecological Service Field Offices, Regions, and various partners to address the conservation needs of endangered and threatened species within the context of energy projects. Laurel began her career in the Midwest Region where she focused on projects related to Section 10 of the Endangered Species Act. She has hands-on experience developing Habitat Conservation Plans for wind and bats as well as providing review and technical assistance for solar and transmission projects.
Laurel is proud of the partnerships she's worked with and developed over the course of her ten-year career in the Service. She believes collaborating on creative solutions together results in the greatest conservation outcomes and the most durable, relevant environmental tools for industry.
