Richard Elsner currently serves as a County Commissioner for Park County Colorado. Over the last seven years he has been involved in many land use issues from a 2,000-acre Teachers retreat, a proposed solar power generating plant, a CORE owned substation, to a trash/septic transfer facility. He was involved in the finalization of Park County’s 1041 structure for identifying, designating, and regulating areas and activities of state interest through the local permitting process.
Prior to becoming a Commissioner, Richard served as the field contract manager for the construction of Craig Stations Unit 1 and 2 in Craig Colorado. He also was involved in the Natural Gas Industry, creating programs to manage well head ownership and gas plant accounting.
He is an Information Technology Professional with a diverse background in contract work including: telecommunications, financial, judicial, mining and energy fields.
He advocates for Park County and rural concerns including water, wildlife, wildfire issues, taxes and housing at the state level.
