Alternative Approaches—Programmatic Agreements to Voluntary Conservation

In this session, attendees will learn about alternative approaches to anticipate and manage species risk beyond the typical Endangered Species Act Section 10 permit process and where non-listed wildlife issues can impact project risk. The discussion will focus on the objectives of these alternative approaches, challenges encountered, and how those challenges were resolved. Panelists will share practical insights on to what extent these approaches ameliorated regulatory risk, financing concerns, and community perception.
